Course Description

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a wide range of general information and communications technology (ICT) technical functions and to achieve a degree of self-sufficiency as an advanced ICT user. The class is completed once a week throughout the school year at an appropriate location on an allocated day.

This course can be structured to be delivered over both Year 11 and Year 12 where the student will receive a Certificate III in Information Technology. If this course is not completed over both years of Senior Secondary Education the student will receive a partial completion of Certificate III in Information Technology.

Who Should Attend?

Years 10 – 12 students wanting to complete a Certificate III in Information Technology whilst still enrolled at school.

Course Outcomes

Training is primarily provided using the networking elective units which will allow progression into the Certificate IV in Information Technology Networking qualification.

Course Duration

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification but learners are subjected to a pre-training review to confirm suitability.

Assessment Information

Assessment is ongoing during the program and includes undertaking specific activities and obtaining feedback from your trainer.

This qualification will be tailored to suit individual school requirements.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Many individuals may already be competent in one or more of the units of competency. RPL is available for each unit of competency based on relevant workplace experience, formal training or other expertise. Recognition will involve submission of your evidence in the form of a portfolio.

  • ICTSAS308 – Run Standard diagnostic tests
