Integrity Business College is proud to recognise Nahida Rezai as our SBAT Student of the Month.

Employed by Westvic and hosted by GippSport, Nahida is completing her Certificate III in Business while gaining practical experience in an industry that interests her.

For Nahida, the traineeship has provided an opportunity to bring business and sport together, learning how a sports organisation operates while supporting workplace tasks, programs and activities.

Throughout her traineeship, Nahida has strengthened her communication, teamwork and organisation skills, while becoming more confident completing tasks independently. She particularly enjoyed the units focused on communication and workplace practices, where she could connect her learning to real situations at GippSport.

Balancing school, work and training has taken some adjustment, but Nahida believes the experience has been beneficial.

“At times it was challenging to balance everything, but it helped me become more organised and responsible. I learned how to manage my time and prioritise my tasks.”

The experience has also helped Nahida think about her future. In the short term, she wants to continue building her skills and gaining workplace experience. Longer term, she hopes to pursue a career in sport and business, with plans to continue studying after completing her traineeship.

School-based traineeships provide an important link between school and employment, giving students the chance to explore an industry while working towards a qualification. For students like Nahida, applying their learning in a real workplace helps build confidence, develop independence and make more informed decisions about their future.

When asked what advice she would give other school students considering a traineeship, Nahida encouraged them to take the opportunity.

“I would encourage students to give it a try. A traineeship gives you the opportunity to learn while gaining real workplace experience. It can help you build confidence, develop useful skills and understand what you might want to do in the future.”

Well done, Nahida, on your commitment to balancing school, work and training. We look forward to seeing where your interest in sport and business takes you.
