We are excited to share our Student Profile of the Month!

This month we’re shining a spotlight on Sophie Jones, who’s supporting project administration as she completes her BSB40120 – Certificate IV in Business as a trainee with Westvic Staffing Solutions hosted to Nicholson Construction.

Here’s what Sophie had to say about her traineeship and how it’s helped her grow professionally.

Q: What does your role entail?
A:
As a Project Coordinator Trainee, I support project administration, coordinate tasks, maintain records, and assist teams to keep projects on track.

Q: What skills have you gained through your traineeship that you can directly apply into your workplace?
A:
Through my traineeship, I’ve improved my communication, organisation, and time management skills. I’ve also gained a better understanding of project management and workplace processes, which has helped me become more confident in my role.

Q: What aspects of your training have brought you the greatest enjoyment thus far?
A: The thing I’ve enjoyed most is being able to apply what I learn straight away at work. It has helped me build new skills, gain confidence, and better understand my role.

Q: What advice can you give anyone who is thinking about undertaking a traineeship?
A: My advice would be to give it a go, even if you’re feeling nervous. A traineeship is a great way to gain practical experience while learning new skills. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, step outside your comfort zone, and take every opportunity to learn. The experience is well worth it and can open doors for your future career.

Q: How did you find our Online Virtual training – is it something you would recommend?
A:
I found the Online Virtual training to be engaging, flexible, and easy to access. Prabh is very supportive and knowledgeable, and the online format allowed me to balance my learning with my work commitments. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Q: How did you find working and training together at the same time, is it beneficial?
A:
Yes, it has been very beneficial. As a hands-on learner, being able to apply what I learn in training directly to my role has helped me better understand and retain new skills. Working and training at the same time has made the learning experience more practical and rewarding.

Q: How has your traineeship experience influenced your short-term and long-term career goals?
A: In the short term, it has helped me build confidence and improve my skills. In the long term, it has encouraged me to keep learning and explore future opportunities in the construction industry.

Q: Upon completion, do you plan to further your studies?
A:
Yes, I would like to continue learning and explore further study opportunities in the future.

Q: How did you find the working relationship between yourself and Integrity Business College?
A:
My experience with Integrity Business College has been very positive. The trainers and support staff have been approachable, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping students succeed. The guidance and support I’ve received throughout my traineeship have been really helpful.
