Student Profile of the Month – Shakira Varcoe

We are thrilled to announce our Student Profile of the Month!

Congratulations to Shakira Varcoe  who is completing a School Based Traineeship in BSB30120 – Certificate III in Business through Maxima’s Indigenous Employment Program and is hosted to Scentre Limited (Westfield)

Below are the insights she shared about her training experience and how she has applied the knowledge she acquired to her professional life.

Q: What does your role entail?
A: I learned a great deal of fresh information from my traineeship that I never would have learned without Integrity Business College’s assistance. The ability to work in a team, time management, communication, the capacity to stand up for myself, organisation, and many other skills play a role in the workplace.

Q: What skills have you gained through your traineeship that you can directly apply into your workplace?
A: I believe that I am now more at ease striking up conversations with clients, employees, friends, family, and other individuals. To prevent having to redo tasks later, I also have become more efficient with my time in whatever I do and make sure I do things correctly the first time. I’ve enjoyed my time at work so far and am eager to do more. I think the skills I’ve learned, such as time management, problem solving, teamwork, etc., will help me later in life to become the greatest worker to work with as I have as I have already started to plan my life for the next 4 years.

Q: What aspects of your training have brought you the greatest enjoyment thus far?
A: At Westfield I have enjoyed working with the marketing  team as i have been involved in all of the exciting and fun thing not that the other thing are not fun but I have enjoyed more of the on the floor working to make my centre better for our community I have also enjoyed working at the concierge desk as I have met some amazing customer and retailers that I see every week  and have make a connection with our customers and retailers.

Q: What advice can you give anyone who is thinking about undertaking a traineeship?
A: I would advise anyone starting a traineeship to choose a project that they feel they would like to work on and that will help them in the future, or if it’s something they enjoy doing in their free time. Enjoy every moment of the traineeship, even though some days do seem longer than others because you can never get that time back. Make lots of notes to help you remember what needs to be done and what you want to add for the future.

Q: How did you find working and training together at the same time, is it beneficial?
A: Even though there was a lot going on over the week, I think I was still able to finish the work that was allocated to me, and once I did, I felt like I had accomplished a lot. Since I received weekly updates on all the work and information I could use at work, I believe it was valuable.

Q; How has your traineeship experience influenced your short-term and long-term career goals?
A: I believe that having a traineeship has assisted me in partially achieving my long-term objective because I will eventually need some of my certificates. Forefield has been my short-term goal, which I have achieved. My immediate objective was to obtain a traineeship and finish the entire program in less than two years.

Q: Upon completion, do you plan to further your studies?
A: I will further study in the future by enrolling myself in different but similar studies. I would like to own my own business and by having all of my certificates will benefit all of my studies in the future as i like to be prepared.

Q: How did you find the working relationship between yourself and Integrity Business College?
A: I am grateful to everyone I work with and hope to work with them some more. I have enjoyed all of the work and meetings I have had with each member of Integrity Business Collage, as well as the way that everyone in the company treats others. I feel that my relationship with Integrity Business Collage has benefited me in ways that I cannot quite put into words.

Q: Would you recommend Integrity?
A: I feel that in the future I would recommend integrity business collage to people as it is verry beneficial for me and I feel that it would benefit others that what to experience
