We are thrilled to announce our Student Profile of the Month!

Congratulations to Sofiya Aindil.

Sofiya is completing ICT30120 – Certificate III in Information Technology as a trainee with  Shire of Cocos (Keeling) Islands.
(Yep you heard that right Cocos Island! A remote territory of Australia in the Indian Ocean!)

Here are the insights she shared about her training experience and how she has applied the knowledge to her professional life.

Q: What does your role entail?
A:
I am an IT Trainee at the Shire of Cocos (Keeling) Islands. Daily tasks include helping staff with IT hardware and software issues, logging and escalating tickets to our IT service provider, and assisting our IT Coordinator with projects and ongoing maintenance.

Q: What skills have you gained through your traineeship that you can directly apply into your workplace?
A:
Through this traineeship, I have learnt to communicate effectively for clear interactions, and developed the ability to adapt to new situations and procedures in the workplace. This training has also helped me familiarise myself with the functions and features of the systems used in our workplace

Q: What aspects of your training have brought you the greatest enjoyment thus far?
A: I’m grateful to have had the chance to sit through a full-day session, and complete a unit with Dylan during his trip to Cocos Islands earlier this year. The session consisted of practical training and the opportunity to ask in-depth questions, which were really helpful

Q: What advice can you give anyone who is thinking about undertaking a traineeship?
A: Take the traineeship open-minded, and see it as an opportunity to learn and grow. Get the most out of the challenges and real-world experiences that traineeships offer, to help you prepare for your chosen field of work.

Q: How did you find our Online Virtual training – is it something you would recommend?
A:
I find the 3 hours of online virtual training that Integrity provides me weekly very beneficial because it allows my focus to solely be on my studies. I like that I can work on my own pace while knowing help is always readily available. Having access to trainers like Integrity’s helps make your traineeship journey a smooth one. Their portal is also user-friendly and easy to navigate. It contains your assessment results, and the status of all your units, making your progress easy to track.

Q: How did you find working and training together at the same time, is it beneficial?
A:
Working full time while undertaking a traineeship can be an overwhelming experience, but it leads to improved time management skills – you learn how to prioritise tasks to create an ideal balance between work and study. I also find that on-the-job training gives you opportunities to apply newly acquired knowledge and abilities into the workplace.

Q: How has your traineeship experience influenced your short-term and long-term career goals?
A: This traineeship is a stepping stone to further my education and career advancement by providing the foundation for pursuing higher qualifications. It is also providing me with valuable skills, insights, and networking opportunities, that will ultimately shape a more informed professional path.

Q: Upon completion, do you plan to further your studies?
A:
Beyond the completion of my current course, I hope to further my studies by advancing to a Cert 4 in Information Technology, and I would love to see myself continuing this journey with Integrity Business College.

Q: How did you find the working relationship between yourself and Integrity Business College?
A:
I appreciate Integrity’s commitment in helping me succeed, whilst creating a comfortable space for me to do so. They keep me on top of schedule, and guide me back on track when I fall behind.

Q: Would you recommend Integrity?
A:
I would 100% recommend studying with Integrity Business College! Since joining them, I could not fault the delivery of the course, and the unwavering support from their staff, especially my trainer, Tyler.

It’s been wonderful to see Sofiya grow throughout her traineeship and build her skills in the workplace. We’re excited to see where her journey takes her in the future.
