Congratulations to Isla Moreland
Isla is completing BSB30120 – Certificate III in Business (Customer Engagement) as a School Based Trainee with Avalon Airport.
Here are the insights she shared about her training experience and how she has applied the knowledge to her professional life.
Q: What does your role entail?
A: My role involves assisting passengers with check-in, providing flight information, managing customer inquiries, operating the terminal car park, attending emergencies, and ensuring a smooth and friendly airport experience.
Q: What skills have you gained through your traineeship that you can directly apply into your workplace?
A: I’ve gained strong communication skills from the roleplays we have to complete in the assignments, time management, teamwork, which are all essential for delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced airport environment.
Q: What aspects of your training have brought you the greatest enjoyment thus far?
A: I’ve really enjoyed learning and having the chance to interact virtually with Tyler (my trainer) who has been very helpful and supportive. The training is helping me to develop my skills and grow in the workforce
Q: What advice can you give anyone who is thinking about undertaking a traineeship?
A: It’s a great way to gain real life experiences and prepare you for the working environment, while completing Year 12 VM. It provides helpful skills that you will grow and benefit from.
Q: How did you find our Online Virtual training – is it something you would recommend?
A: The online training is flexible and easy to access. I would recommend it. It fits around work schedules and gives you the support you need.
Q: How did you find working and training together at the same time, is it beneficial?
A: It was definitely beneficial. I was able to immediately apply what I was learning in training to real situations at work. At the Airport there are a variety of customers and learning how to deal, manage and cooperate with them is something that business integrity has taught me.
Q: How has your traineeship experience influenced your short-term and long-term career goals?
A: Short-term, I feel more confident and capable in customer service roles and it is helping me complete my SBAT at Avalon Airport whilst completing year 12. Long-term, I hope to work in aviation as a flight attendant with an Airline or to gain a job in the Air Force ADF. This has provided me with customer service skills, a desire to succeed in my career of choice.
Q: Upon completion, do you plan to further your studies?
A: Upon completion, I am undecided whether I continue at Avalon Airport or move forward to the Air Force or an Airline.
Q: How did you find the working relationship between yourself and Integrity Business College?
A: The relationship was supportive and professional. Trainers were approachable and always available to help.
Q: Would you recommend Integrity?
A: Absolutely. They provided a solid structure, great support, and real flexibility for trainees like me.
It’s been wonderful to see Isla grow throughout her traineeship and build her skills in the workplace. We’re excited to see where her journey takes her in the future.
